With possibility of severe storm, EMA recommends precautions

Erin Konecki, Deputy Emergency Management Agency  director for Wood County, has issued the following advisory:

WEATHER ALERT: The National Weather Service (NWS) in Cleveland is monitoring an approaching storm system which may bring strong to severe storms and heavy rain to portions of the area late tonight (Aug. 12) into Tuesday morning.  Here at the Wood County EMA, we have been keeping a close eye on the forecast, and as you all may know, the weather can change rapidly.

These storms are likely to occur after midnight tonight when many Wood County residents are sleeping.  When you go to bed tonight please ensure your phone is on ring and make sure it is fully charged.  We also recommend that you sign up for CodeRED alerts at https://public.coderedweb.com/CNE/en-US/BFAB7B074BCD and have a weather radio on hand (with backup batteries). Remember, CodeRED will only issue you an alert if you are in the path of severe weather. Other recommendations for nocturnal weather events are the close proximity of (preferably closed toe) shoes and a flashlight.

The Wood County EMA will be monitoring local conditions and providing updates impacting our County as they occur.
