WLI’s inaugural community prom a success

From WORK LEADS TO INDEPENDENCE

Work Leads to Independence would like to thank our wonderful community for making the inaugural community prom that was held October 26th a success!.

The night was filled with food, fun, dancing and plenty of laughter. Congratulations to our reigning Prom King and Queen, Chris Morlock and Bethany Gladieux!

Wli is a non-profit agency located in the heart of Wood County. Since 1985, wli, Work Leads to Independence (formally known as Community Employment Services) has assisted the business community to meet their staffing and diversity needs by offering a pool of qualified and competent workers with disabilities. We also work to actively involve our clients in the community through our Community Integration program.

Since our privatization from Wood Lane in October of 2016, we are no longer able to rely on the generosity of taxpayer dollars and therefore looked for a fun and exciting way to get our community involved in our fundraising efforts. Proceeds from our fundraiser will go towards supporting programming for the individuals we serve. Examples of activities supported by community generosity include taking individuals bowling, volunteering with Meals on Wheels and at local churches, touring the Toledo Metro parks, visiting the Toledo Museum of Art, as well as other ways to maximize our individuals’ involvement in our local communities.

WLI would also like to thank the following generous sponsors that also helped to make prom a resounding success:

Gold Level

Fraternal Order of Eagles #2180 and Clover Imaging Group.

Silver Level

College of Education and Human Development at BGSU; USI; Rosenboom; and Tin Man Heating and Cooling.

Bronze Level

Erie Construction; VitaKraft; Key Bank; Nate and Wally’s;  DT Sports; UA Local 50; and Telamon Construction.

As well as generous donations made by the following: The Employer’s Association and Shipley Automotive.
