Woman charged with felonious assault after reportedly stabbing man in BG

Bowling Green Police charged a woman with felonious assault after she reportedly stabbed a man on Friday, June 9.

Monique Perkins, 20, was charged with felonious assault, and Darnell Johnson, 21, was charged with obstructing official business. Both were taken to Wood County Jail.

Police responded around 4:40 a.m. to the 2000 block of East Napoleon Road, after it was reported that Perkins was seen slashing a tire in the parking lot, and attempting to stab Johnson. Both were reportedly seen getting into a vehicle together.

When police arrived, Johnson ran from the vehicle. The woman got out from the driver’s seat and reportedly told police there was no knife in the car. However, police found a steak knife and box cutter knife in the vehicle and blood on the driver’s side door.

The police also reportedly found a blanket with blood on it that was dropped as Johnson fled the car.

Police searched the area for the injured man, and located several areas of blood on the ground near the apartment where he was staying. Police pinged his cell phone in an attempt to locate him and get him medical attention. The pings reportedly showed he was hiding in a field behind the apartment complex.

After a search of the area, police found fresh blood on the steps to his apartment, and received a call that Johnson was at the hospital being treated. Johnson was treated and released, and taken to jail.
