Wood County Museum going to the races with annual fundraiser gala

Don a colorful bow tie, feathery fascinator, or decorated hat at the Wood County Museum’s annual gala fundraiser – Kentucky Derby style!  The in-person event takes place Saturday, Oct.r 9 from 6-9 p.m. at the Wood County Museum, 13660 County Home Road in Bowling Green.

Tickets are $55/Members and $65/Non-Members and can be purchased online or at the door. Non-event ticket donations are also welcome. All proceeds to benefit the Wood County Historical Society to further exhibits, collections preservation, and educational outreach to schools and adults.

Enjoy appetizers and beverages specially designed and prepared for this Kentucky Derby-themed event as you tour the Museum, enjoy artistic and historic exhibits amongst the Derby décor, and bid on fabulous virtual auction prizes. Hats and bowties are encouraged with prizes for the best hat and best dressed.

The virtual auction begins Friday, Oct. 1 at noon and runs until Saturday, Oct. 9. Don’t want to be tied to a phone or computer watching a bid? Submit proxy bids (automatic bidding) and let museum staff take away the worry and monitor the bids on your behalf during the live event. Those attending the live event will be able to see the auction items in person and place bids with a smartphone or at a computer station at the event.
