Wood County has reported 254 new COVID cases, two more deaths, and five new hospitalizations since Monday, according to today’s report from the Wood County Health Department.
That brings the total for the county to 15,767 cases, 240 deaths, and 734 hospitalizations from COVID.
Wood County is seeing an average of 69 new COVID cases each day, and is now at 427 COVID cases per 100,000 residents, keeping the county in the high transmission range.
During the last two weeks, the 672 new COVID cases in the county broken down into ZIP Code areas show that all areas of the county are affected. The highest number of cases in the last two weeks were reported in Bowling Green, 174; Perrysburg, 147; Northwood, 46; North Baltimore, 38; Wayne, 26; Walbridge, 26; Millbury, 26; Pemberville, 24; and BGSU campus, 24.
Several schools in the county have reported recent cases of COVID. For the week of Sept. 13, there were 74 cases among students, and 8 among staff, including:
- BG City Schools, 1 student, 1 staff.
- Eastwood, 7 students, 0 staff.
- Elmwood, 2 students, 1 staff.
- Lake, 9 students, 0 staff.
- North Baltimore, 1 student, 0 staff.
- Northwood, 5 students, 0 staff.
- Otsego, 7 students, 3 staff.
- Penta, 7 students, 0 staff.
- Perrysburg, 18 students, 0 staff.
- Rossford, 11 students, 3 staff.
- St. Rose Preschool, 3 students, 0 staff.
- Westside Montessori in Perrysburg, 1 student, 0 staff.
The Wood County Health Department is also reporting information now on the number of K-12 students in the county coming in close contact with someone with COVID.
Of the 1,435 reporting close contact in school since Sept. 16, a total of 935 had to quarantine. But 206 who were wearing masks and 294 who were vaccinated, did not have to be quarantined.
