Wood County has 1,071 confirmed and probable cases of COVID-19 since March, according to the Tuesday, Aug. 11, update from the Wood County Health Department. That is an increase of 11 cases since Monday.
A total of 58 county residents have died since March.
As of today there are 120 active cases in the county, which is 26 fewer than on Monday. Active cases are Wood County residents who are being monitored by the health department according to state and federal isolation criteria.
Every Wednesday, the Wood County Health Department lists “active cases” by Zip Code. As of Aug. 5, the Perrysburg area had between 56 and 60 active cases, and the Bowling Green area had between 21 and 25 active cases. The Northwood area had between 16 and 20, and the Rossford area had between 11 and 15 cases.
The North Baltimore and Walbridge areas each had between 6 and 10 cases. The areas of Bloomdale, Bradner, Cygnet, Hoytville, Luckey, Jerry City, Millbury, Portage, Wayne and Weston each had between one and five active cases.
Of the 58 who have died, one was in their 50s, seven were in their 60s, 14 in their 70s, 25 in their 80s, and 11 in their 90s. Of the deaths, 31 have been females, and 27 have been males.
Of the total 1,071 cases in Wood County, at least 251 have been in long-term care facilities – 158 were residents and 93 were staff. Those numbers from long-term care facilities are updated every Wednesday.

- Kingston Residence of Perrysburg: 44 residents, 19 staff.
- Kingston Rehabilitation of Perrysburg: 11 residents, 25 staff.
- The Manor at Perrysburg: 18 residents, 7 staff.
- Heartland of Perrysburg: 22 residents, 1 staff.
- Otterbein Perrysburg: 5 residents, 18 staff.
- Otterbein Pemberville: 3 residents, 5 staff.
- Heritage Corner Health Care, Bowling Green: 1 resident, 3 staff.
- St. Clare Commons, Perrysburg: 1 resident, 0 staff.
- Grand Rapids Care Center: 1 resident, 0 staff.
- Briar Hill Health Campus: 1 resident, 6 staff.
- Brookdale, Bowling Green: 0 residents, 1 staff.
- Wood Lane Residential Werner House: 1 resident, 1 staff.
According to the Ohio Department of Health, at least 47 of Wood County’s 58 deaths from COVID-19 have occurred in long-term care facilities.
Of the total 1,071 cases in the county as of today, those with the virus range in age from 1 to 102, with the median age of 43. The number of females is 581, and males is 490.
A total of 104 Wood County residents have been hospitalized for the virus since March.
