Fifth-grade students from Bowling Green Christian Academy recently spruced up the grounds of Wood Lane Residential Services’ Nancy Ullum Garden Apartments.
The students worked during morning and afternoon shifts to refresh the grounds around the facility, where individuals with developmental and/or intellectual disabilities live in 14 units. The young volunteers helped weed flower beds and put down river rock as part of the academy’s 17th annual Community Day.
“This event allows us to give back to our wonderful community and is such an important part of BG Christian’s mission of providing high-quality, distinctively Christian education,” said Zane Powell, director of advancement at BG Christian Academy.
The work done through the community partnership between BGCA and Wood Lane Residential helped create a pleasant environment for the residents and contributed to Wood Lane Residential’s mission of providing their residents with the highest quality of life enhancement opportunities in residential environments.
