From OHIO YOUNG DEMOCRATS

This year’s annual Ohio Young Democrats Convention will be held on the campus of Bowling Green State University in Olscamp Hall on May 6 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

“Bringing Young Democrats together from around the state ahead of a presidential and statewide election next year is critical for continuing the great work of Democrats in Ohio,” said OYD President Lucy Frank. “We are ready to fight for Democratic candidates and issues this year and beyond.”

This year’s convention will feature presentations from Northwest Ohio Democrats, including former House candidates Sam Lawrence and Colin Flanagan, Bowling Green, Councilwoman Rachel Phipps, Toledo City Councilwoman Carrie Hartman, Rossford Councilwoman Brenna Reynolds, Lucas County Auditor Anita Lopez, Toledo City Councilman Nick Komives, Toledo Mayor Wade Kapszukiewicz, and U.S. Rep. Marcy Kaptur, among others including ODP Chair Liz Walters.

“We chose to bring the Convention to Northwest Ohio this year to showcase talent here that many members of OYD may never see. Lucas and Wood counties are full of outstanding Democratic leaders that do not always capture the attention of statewide or national media,” said OYD Vice President Zach Schmidt.

More than 140 Young Democrats from every corner of the state are expected to attend.

Those attending should park in Lot N.
