The 31st Annual Art Walk is taking place throughout Downtown Bowling Green on Saturday, May 13 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. with a reception at the Wood County Senior Center to follow from 3:30-4:30 pm.  This free event welcomes everyone to see the work of local artists in their pop-up shops throughout different merchants in downtown.

Downtown Bowling Green and the Bowling Green Arts Council have partnered to put on a fun-filled day complete with art. Begin by going to the Senior Center to see a preview of each artist’s work, where you will also have a chance to vote for the People’s Choice Award winner. From there, you’re invited to pick up a map of where their artwork is on display at local area merchants.

Along with the art, there will also be a flowerpot raffle at the Senior Center where the public may buy tickets the day of the event to vote for their favorite flowerpot and a chance to take one home. These have all been decorated by people in our community. The best by popular vote will win Downtown Dollars!

The reception will be at the Wood County Senior Center with light refreshments provided by Qdoba, Biggby Coffee, and Kabob It and live music by Sandy Coursey. Here, the juried winners, people’s choice winners, and flowerpot raffle winners will be announced.

The proceeds from this event benefit the Bowling Green Arts Council and Downtown Bowling Green Flower Fund.

Melissa Ladd serve as the juror. We would also like to thank John and Alice Calderonello for sponsoring the first people’s choice award; Jeff and Inge Klopping for sponsoring the second place people’s choice award; Laurie and Dick Newlove for sponsoring the third place people’s choice award;  the BGSU School of Art for sponsoring the first place juried award; the BG Arts Council for sponsoring second place juried award; The Downtown BG S.I.D. for sponsoring the juried third place award; and the Downtown Foundation for sponsoring the flowerpot winning prize.
