Workshop at senior center to focus on how older adults can handle difficult conversations

Wood County Senior Center in Bowling Green

The Wood County Committee on Aging, in partnership with Bowling Green State University, is offering a workshop on difficult conversations for older adults.

The workshop is scheduled for Dec. 12, from 2:30 to 4 p.m., in the Wood County Senior Center, 140 S. Grove St., Bowling Green.

The workshop is intended for those in a close relationship, in which they want to discuss a difficult topic but are unsure how to approach it. In this workshop, designed by graduate students in Relational Communication at BGSU, participants will make a plan for discussing a difficult topic in a close relationship.

Participants will discuss important close relationships, such as friendships, sibling relationships, parent-child relationships, and romantic relationships and approaches to talking about difficult topics such as finances, end of life planning, and health. Participants will identify a difficult topic and close relationship, consider their goals in the relationship, and select an approach that will work for them and their relationship.
