Misty Nichole Dienst

It is with profound sadness that we share the passing of Misty Nichole Dienst, a beloved daughter, sister, family member, and friend whose beautiful heart and generous spirit touched so many lives. She left this world on August 28, 2026, at the age of 41. Misty was born on October 2, 1984, in Bowling Green, Ohio.

Misty a Life Member of the Paul C. Ladd VFW Ladies Auxiliary Post 1148 in Bowling Green, Oh and spent a good amount of her childhood growing up there. She also spent a lot of time growing up with her cousin Brock (Alyssa) Dienst where she learned to love the outdoors and everything life had to offer her. 

Misty graduated from Bowling Green High School, played the trombone in the school band and also exhibited her rhythmic talent with the drums. Her passion for the arts led her to Defiance College, where she worked as an STNA and earned a scholarship to play softball, ultimately achieving her Associate’s Degree in Graphic Design. She was an animal lover, and cherished her cat, Leonardo T’Challa M’baka Mortimer Dienst aka Leo. She was also an adventurous spirit, enjoying rides on her three-wheeler and relishing the beauty of life around her. She was always working on crafts and sewing clothes. Misty also had a magical green thumb and loved her plants. 

Misty is survived by her loving mother, Trisha North; father, Ken North; sister, Destiny Dienst (Robert Currie); her fiancé, James “Morty” Mortimer, soon to be mother-in-law: Annette Mortimer and her grandfather, Roger (Jody) North. She was preceded in death by her grandmothers: Edeltraud Emer Jones Dienst, Vicky Sue North, and her fiancés father, Thomas Mortimer.

Misty leaves behind memories that will be cherished forever: the sound of her music, the laughter shared over softball, the plants she lovingly brought back to life, and most of all, the countless acts of kindness she gave so freely.

Misty’s presence will be deeply missed, but her love, her kindness, and the memories she created will remain in the hearts of everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.

A Remembrance Service will be held for Misty on September 4, 2026, at Deck-Hanneman Funeral Home, Bowling Green. The day’s events will begin a Memorial Gathering at 11:00 AM, followed by a Memorial Service at 12:00 PM, offering all those who loved Misty a chance to honor her memory.
