Richard Lee Fraley, age 62, of Risingsun, Ohio passed away at home on Wednesday, October 9, 2024. Richard was born on November 10, 1961, in Springfield, OH to Douglas L. and Mary Frances (Slee) Fraley. Richard married Juliette D. Blain on July 6, 1985 in Bakersfield, CA. Richard and Julie raised 3 children and celebrated 31 years of marriage until Julie’s passing on their wedding anniversary of 2016.
Richard worked as a furnace operator 15 years for Dowa America in Bowling Green before retiring. He was a Washington Redskins Football Fan, enjoyed the outdoors being a part of nature be it fishing or metal detecting. He was a collector of precious metals, and also enjoyed playing board games especially Risk. However, his greatest joy was being a dad, and grandfather.
Richard is survived by his mother, Mary Fraley of Pemberville. Children: Richard (Sadi Lafferty) Fraley II of Wayne, Amanda (Andrew) Lewallen of Wayne, and Robert Baker of Texas, OH. Grandchildren: Noah J. Nibert, Addison R. Fraley, Myria Sharninghouse, Alice Trimble, and Danielle Trimble. Brothers: Doug (Janet) Fraley of Bowling Green, and James (Courtney) Fraley of Risingsun. Sisters: Tammy (John) Taulker of Fostoria, Jody (Bruce) Bryant of Wayne, Debbie Gensler of Grand Rapids, OH, and k-9 pal, his Siberian Husky Chevis. In addition to his wife Julie, he was preceded in death by his father, Douglas Fraley.
