Robert Bailey

It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Robert Franklin Bailey, age 92, on Monday, November 11. He served in the US Air Force and later went on to be an administrator for the US Department of Agriculture for 35 years. Known affectionately as the “Big Stir’er” at the Applebutter Fest in Grand Rapids and a familiar figure as a blue shirt at the National Tractor Pull in Bowling Green.

After retiring from the Department of Agriculture he was the president of the Licking County water and sewer board in Etna Twp. Robert was a proud snowbird, spending his winters in Sun City Center, Florida, where he enjoyed the warmer weather and a change of pace.

Robert leaves behind his loving spouse, Anne Bailey, and children Michael, Julie, Daniel, Elizabeth, and Scot Bailey. He was preceded in death by his parents: Claude and Ilo.

Robert’s remains will be interred at Arlington National Cemetery, where full military honors will be rendered at a date to be determined.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Deck-Hanneman Funeral Home, Bowling Green. www.hannemanfuneralhomes.com.
