From OHIO STATE UNIVERSITY EXTENSION-WOOD COUNTY
A total of 385 Wood County Junior Fair youth recently competed in the Livestock Skillathon at the Junior Fair Building.
Skillathon is one component of the champion project for each of the eight species: beef, dairy, goats, horses, poultry, rabbits, sheep and swine.
During the skillathon, 4-H and FFA members were quizzed on their knowledge of the species, including breeds, parts, medication, feed and structure. Members who are 14 years old and over competed in the senior division. Youths who are 13 years and younger competed in the junior division.
