The 3rd annual Kids Floral Challenge was the biggest one yet. Children between 5 and 18 years old tried their design skills in the challenge presented by Penta Career Center.
The Wood County Fair is over for another year. Once the weather cooled down by Thursday, the attendance ticked up and there were crowds on the fairgrounds every evening enjoying all the fair offers from food, games and rides, to entertainment, livestock shows and fair entries to view.
Here is a look at some of the fair memories captured throughout the week that weren’t part of a bigger story.

The Stingray Encounter returned to the fair this year along with the Shark Encounter. The Sea Lion Splash, new this year, completed the trio of special attractions.Snow White and Cinderella were two of the Disney princesses on hand to greet little (and big) fairgoers during the fair. Patterson’s Pony Rides announced that a darling filly pony was born during their week at the Wood County Fair. The Junior Fair Board was tasked with naming the new pony. No announcement has been made on social media yet. The Pattersons were headed to the Richland County Fair next.Evenings at the Wood County Fair were the best with cooler temperatures, an inviting feel with the new strung lights across the midway, the aroma of the food trucks inviting hungry fairgoers, and the sounds of the rides, games and gatherings all around.
