From UNIVERSITY WOMEN OF BGSU
University Women of BGSU will kick off the 2026-27 year with its annual fall brunch on Saturday, Aug. 8, at 10 a.m., in the Veterans Building at City Park in Bowling Green.
The brunch provides an opportunity for women who are interested in joining to learn more about this organization. Members do not have to have any affiliation with BGSU to join. The primary objectives of University Women are to encourage and assist part- and full-time nontraditional BGSU undergraduate students through scholarship funding and to provide fellowship and enrichment for its members, primarily through varied small interest groups.
A catered box lunch provided by Jersey Mike’s will include a sub – turkey, Italian, or vegetarian – and chips and a cookie. Complimentary bottled water will also be available.
Current members and guests should send their name and $15 for their meal to Hilde Farrow at 1210 Alexandria Blvd., Bowling Green, OH 43402.
The brunch program will include a brief address by Dr. Sandra Earle, the university advocate, speaking in place of BGSU President Rodney Rogers. The program will be a dance presentation by The Silkies, directed by Sheila Brown.
Six BGSU students will be presented with scholarships. University Women of BGSU is proud to acknowledge these students for their hard work and perseverance in working toward their degree completion at BGSU.
University Women of BGSU includes special interest groups for members to choose from, including antiques, art museum tours, BGSU arts, book groups, community service, expresso yourself, gardening, knitting and crocheting, lunch bunch, movies, TOOTS, travelers, and more.
Prospective new members may find information about University Women as well as an application on the University Women website at www.universitywomenofbgsu.com.
Leading the organization this year is Cindy Cowles.
