From TOLEDO BALLET | LIVE ARTS TOLEDO
Toledo Ballet is proud to announce its first-ever Winter Works Choreographic Competition, inviting emerging choreographers from all dance genres to create new work alongside its professional company dancers. This new initiative offers two ways to be part of the experience: apply to create a new work with Toledo Ballet company dancers or join Toledo Ballet for the world premiere of the finished pieces.
Two emerging choreographers will be selected to spend two weeks in January 2027 working with Toledo Ballet’s professional company dancers to develop new choreographic works. Their residencies will culminate in Winter Works, a fully produced world premiere on Saturday, Feb. 13, 2027.
Applications are open now through Sept. 30. Complete application requirements and additional information can be found at liveartstoledo.com/tb-competition,
Audiences will have the opportunity to vote for the Audience Choice Award recipient, while an artistic panel led by Toledo Ballet Artistic Director Eric Otto will select the Artistic Choice Award recipient.
Winter Works will take place Saturday, Feb. 13, 2027, at 7 p.m., at the Kay-Lee Family Studio at the Toledo Center for Live Arts. Click here for tickets.
Whether someone is a choreographer ready to create or an audience member eager to discover what’s next, Winter Works invites everyone to be part of something new.
