Save Our Schools will host a presentation by a representative from Safe Routes to School on Aug. 22, 7 p.m. Grounds for Thought.
Safe Routes to School is a program funded by ODOT. According to organizers, Bowling Green City School District is one of the few districts in this region that has yet to begin the process to participate that would allow us to receive financial assistance through the program.
Monetary assistance could be applied to educate parents and children, as well as maintain and create safe routes to school in various ways. All of this with the intention of encouraging children to be more active and healthy.
The organizers in cited residents to: “Find out how this program can benefit both our community, our elementary schools, and our children. All members of the community are welcome to attend.”
