A Bowling Green man was arrested Friday for domestic violence after a neighbor reported hearing a woman yell for help, saying she was being held hostage.
Bowling Green Police charged Curtis Dewberry, 25, with domestic violence and transported him to Wood County Jail.
Police were called to the apartment in the 2200 block of South Mercer Street, around 3:55 p.m. after a neighbor reportedly heard a woman and child scream for help.
Police had responded to the same address a few weeks ago for a domestic dispute involving Dewberry.
A woman in the apartment told police that Dewberry pushed her down on the couch and choked her. As she was trying to leave, Dewberry allegedly punched her in the face and choked her again. A 3-year-old child in the apartment told police his mom was being hurt.
