The native plant sale organized by the Friends of the Wood County Parks last weekend raised more than $16,000 for the park district.
“This was the largest event we’ve ever had,” the president of the organization announced at this week’s meeting of the park district board. “Every single plant was sold.”
Sandy Wiechman, president of the park board, said people were lined up out the door when she arrived at the plant sale.
The friends group also netted at least 35 new memberships at the plant sale that was held at the Wood County Fairgrounds.
