Jewish fall film series offers five documentaries through December

From Lake Erie to the Red Sea, the Jewish Community Relations Council Fall into Films Series presents five thought-provoking and entertaining stories and documentaries that include post-film discussions with authors, producers, and experts in each film’s subject matter.

10 Questions for Henry Ford addresses antisemitism and the auto maker’s complicated legacy. Featuring a post-film discussion with the film’s producer, University of Michigan Professor Andy Kirshner.

The Erie Situation

The Erie Situation looks at the numerous factors affecting the water quality (and lack thereof) in Lake Erie. Featuring a post-film discussion with Tom Henry, The Blade‘s award-winning environmental reporter, and David Ruck of Great Lakes Outreach Media, producer of the film.

Under G-d focuses on the Jewish response to the United States Supreme Court’s Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization decision that overturned Roe v. Wade. Featuring a post-film discussion with legal and medical experts.

The Red Sea Diving Resort

The Red Sea Diving Resort, inspired by true events, tells the story of a Mossad-run fake hotel that enabled the rescue of Jewish-Ethiopian refugees from Sudan to Israel. Featuring a brief presentation about Ethiopian Jews after the film.

Repairing the World: Stories from the Tree of Life

Repairing the World: Stories from the Tree of Life documents Pittsburgh’s collective response in the aftermath of the deadliest antisemitic attack in U.S. history, at the Tree of Life, New Light Congregation, and Congregation Dor Hadash synagogues. This film screening will be part of our 2023 Shine a Light on Antisemitism program and includes a full Kosher dinner and candle lighting for the last night of Hanukkah.
