Author & illustrator Raul the Third to visit library

Award-winning author and illustrator Raúl the Third will visit the Wood County District Public Library on Thursday, Nov. 10 at 7 p.m. in the Library Atrium. 

Author and illustrator of award-winning books like “¡Vamos! Let’s Go Eat,” “Stuntboy,”” In the Meantime”, “Lowriders to the Center of the Earth,” and more.

Raúl will discuss his books, work, and life, and will share the inspiration, practice, and challenges in his creative process. Perrysburg book store, Gathering Volumes, will be selling copies of his books at the event. Raúl will be available to autograph books following his presentation.

Raúl The Third is a New York Times bestselling and three-time Pura Belpre award-winning illustrator, author, and artist living in Boston. “¡Vamos! Let’s Cross the Bridge” was awarded one of the year’s Best Illustrated Children’s Books of 2021 from the New York Times and the New York Public Library. He is currently adapting his World of ¡Vamos! books into an animated television series with Silvergate Media and Mercury Filmworks. 

His work centers around the contemporary Mexican-American experience and his memories of growing up in El Paso, Texas and Ciudad Juarez, Mexico.
