In honor of the “Big Game” in February, Beeker’s General Store is pulling together its best food vendors for Sampling Saturday, a taste-testing extravaganza on Saturday, Jan. 27 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

This unique event provides ample opportunity to try some of the store’s featured items including Amish edibles, local honey, homemade baked goods, Gianno’s Chocolates, Sechler’s pickles, Faro coffee, Brownwood Farms and more.

In addition to being able to sample many items, guests will also have a chance to “Meet the Maker” and ask questions of our Creative Community Chefs (The 3c’s).

An additional highlight of this event includes the opportunity to vote for the “People’s Choice” recipe. Local celebrities and residents are participating in a contest in which Beeker’s will provide a mystery brown bag containing a product that we feature.

Each chef is asked to create a delicious recipe with their mystery item and samples for taste testing. All the mystery items used by the participants will be available for sale at Beeker’s. Here’s a sneak peek at some of this year’s featured products:  sweet heat pickles, Amish peanut butter spread, apple bacon barbecue sauce and cherry butter.

The shelves will be brimming with more edible favorites to stock up and take home to create delicious appetizers, savory main dishes and sweet treats for the “Big Game” and beyond.

Bring the family for this must-experience event at Beeker’s General Store, located at 226 E. Front St., Pemberville. Call with questions at 419-287-3274.

Individuals interested in participating and competing for the “People’s Choice” recipe, please contact Beeker’s General Story by Jan. 15.
