Braving the cold and wintery wind, people gathered Friday night to celebrate the beginning of the Christmas season with the lighting of the Christmas Tree.
Mayor Mike Aspacher flipped the switch to light the tree with the help of third grader Piper Hartzler.
The Bowling Green High School Madrigals warmed up the crowd with a few seasonal selecions.
After the tree was lit, the Madrigals entertained the crowd inside the Wood County District Public Library’s atrium.
The tree lighting is presented annually by Downtown Bowling Green.
