From CITY OF BOWLING GREEN
The Bowling Green Historic Preservation Commission is celebrating National Historic Preservation Month in May for a fourth year with a self-guided walking tour of Bowling Green’s historic homes and buildings. Historic structure owners are encouraged to sign up their property by providing basic details about their home or building. Owners who register will receive a “History Lives Here” yard sign, bringing awareness to local preservation and recognizing the properties included in the self-guided walking tour throughout May.
Those interested in participating can register their property online, by calling the Planning Department at 419-354-6218, or emailing planning@bgohio.gov. The deadline to apply is Friday, April 10.
Applicants will be asked to provide a brief history of their historic structure. Those who would like to further research their property can use the commission’s handout, which is located on the city’s website at https://www.bgohio.gov/436/Historic-Preservation-Commission.
The planning department will contact those who participated in 2025. There is no need for last year’s participants to sign-up again.
The Historic Preservation Commission was established in 2019 to help preserve, promote, and educate the community about local history and historic buildings in Bowling Green. To learn more about the HPC, visit https://www.bgohio.gov/436/Historic-Preservation-Commission.
