BG issues snow street parking restrictions reminder

With forecasts indicating the potential of snow accumulations of 2 inches, the City of Bowling Green reminds residents of parking restrictions that go into effect with a city snow emergency. A snow emergency within the City may be declared if 2 inches of snow accumulates, which begins the implementation of no parking along snow streets.

If a snow emergency is declared between the hours of 7 a.m. and 9 p.m., vehicles parked on a snow street must be removed within two hours of the declaration. If a snow emergency is declared overnight, vehicles must be removed by 9 a.m. Vehicles parked in violation of snow regulations are subject to being towed at the owner’s expense and a citation may be issued. Even if you don’t live on a snow street, it is very helpful to remove vehicles from the street whenever possible. Doing so will expedite the removal of snow along the roads.

Designated streets and other winter regulations are posted to the City’s website, www.bgohio.org.

The city has created an account to issue text alerts if snow emergencies are declared or cancelled. Those wishing to receive these alerts need to text “follow bgsnowemergency” to 40404. Text messages from this account will only be sent if a snow emergency is declared or cancelled.
