BG Police arrest driver after alleged high-speed car chase, then foot chase into manufacturing plant

A Toledo man was arrested Thursday (April 30) after allegedly leading police on a high-speed chase, then a foot chase before being apprehended in a Bowling Green manufacturing plant.

Talmadge Thomas, 34, was arrested for failure to comply/fleeing and eluding, non-compliance suspension, and driving under OVI suspension. He was taken to Wood County Jail.

BG Police pulled over Thomas after reportedly seeing him driving a vehicle on Poe Road with no headlights at 8:34 p.m. Thomas reportedly told police his driver’s license was at his workplace, and gave the officer his name and date of birth. As the officer was walking back to his vehicle, Thomas allegedly sped off, heading east of East Poe Road. The officer noted that multiple vehicles had to move out of the way to avoid being hit by Thomas.

Police followed as the car turned south on Dunbridge Road, then east onto Woodbridge Boulevard, into a business park. Thomas reportedly bailed from his car and ran into the Magna plant in the business park. The officer followed and apprehended him inside the plant.

It was found that Thomas reportedly had a suspended license and was on federal parole.
