From WOOD COUNTY DOG SHELTER
Everyone is invited to meet Queenie, the Wood County Dog Shelter’s longest stay. She has been a resident since mid-February and is looking for a place to call home. She is spayed, up-to-date on vaccines, and heartworm negative.
Queenie is on the shy side, so it may take a couple of minutes to warm up, but once she does, she becomes people’s best friend. She loves her people so much that she needs to be the only dog in the home.
Queenie is estimated to be around 4 to 5 years old and is medium-sized. She is a lower-energy dog and would rather spend her days in the backyard playing ball or curling up on the couch watching movies.
Queenie’s adoption fee is $116, which includes a 2026 dog license.
The hours for the shelter are Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to noon and 3:30 to 4:30 p.m., and Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon. The shelter is closed on Sundays. The Wood County Dog Shelter is located at 1912 E. Gypsy Lane Road, Bowling Green, and can be reached by calling 419-354-9242.
