Two incidents at the same apartment complex, about three hours apart, landed two people in jail on Wednesday.

Bowling Green Police were first called to an apartment in the 2000 block of Napoleon Road around 7 p.m., by a man reporting an assault by a woman. At the same time Bowling Green EMS responded to the complex for a female with a facial injury in one apartment and a male with a hand injury in another apartment.

According to the police report, Nyere Grant, 20, had gone to get her belongings from an apartment where she had been staying with Serus Walters, 18. She reportedly pushed her way into the apartment – though she was not allowed in the apartment without police presence, according to the report.

Grant said Walters punched her in the face. And Walters said Grant bit his hand and side of his head. He was transported to Wood County Hospital, and she was arrested for aggravated burglary and taken to Wood County Jail.

Later that evening, around 10, another resident of the apartment complex reported seeing Walters slash the rear passenger tire on Grant’s vehicle parked at the complex. Walters was reportedly wearing a black hoodie and had his right arm wrapped in a soft cast – which he was wearing when police dropped him home from the hospital.

Walters was arrested for criminal damaging and taken to Wood County Jail.
