BG teachers union leadership supports investment in new high school

Dear Bowling Green Community:

As BGCS teachers, all of us share a deep commitment to the Bowling Green community. We also share an unwavering belief in the need for a new high school building.

Teacher recruitment and retention are materially impacted by the quality of the school environment, and the deteriorating condition of our high school makes it difficult to attract and retain new teachers. These work environments are subpar, sometimes bordering on unsafe.

Our experience also tells us that improved educational outcomes go hand in hand with improved educational facilities. Safe, modern learning facilities help reduce distractions and prepare our children to compete for in-demand jobs.

Our members, our students, and our community are best served when we invest in our education system. The time for action is long overdue, and we enthusiastically support the November levy for a new Bowling Green high school.
