BG Varsity Baseball clinches lead in sixth inning to defeat Northview

Bowling Green Varsity Bobcats Baseball defeated Northview 3-2 on Friday after taking the lead late in the game.  The game was tied at one with the Bobcats batting in the bottom of the sixth when Braden Loomis singled on a 0-1 count, scoring one run.

The pitching was strong on both sides. BG pitchers struck out two, while Northview pitchers sat down two.

Northview got things moving in the second inning, when Bradford doubled on a 1-2 count, scoring one run.

Jimmy LaForce earned the win for BG. The righthander surrendered one run on one hit over two innings, striking out two and walking one.

Mckarus started the game for Northview. Mckarus lasted five innings, allowing seven hits and two runs while striking out two and walking one.  Patnode threw one inning out of the bullpen.

Brady Gaines started the game for BG. Gaines allowed four hits and one run over five innings

The Bobcats collected nine hits.  Gaines and Luke Johnson all managed multiple hits for BG.  Johnson and Gaines each collected two hits to lead the Bobcats.

Northview totaled five hits in the game.  Bradford and Crooks all managed multiple hits for Northview.
