Larry Sattler, 54, of Bloomdale, died Friday (Aug. 7) night when struck while bicycling in Bloomdale.
Wood County Sheriff’s Officer received the 911 emergency call about the crash at 8:18 p.m. that a man on a bicycle had been struck by a motor vehicle on Oil Center Road near the intersection of Cloverdale Road.
Bloomdale Fire Department, Bloomdale EMS and Wood County Sheriff’s Office responded to the location to investigate the crash. Sattler was pronounced dead at the scene from injuries sustained in the incident.
The crash remains under investigation and no charges have currently been filed.
The initial report issued by the sheriff’s office provided no information on the vehicle that struck Sattler, nor whether the driver of the vehicle was on the scene when emergency crews arrived.
