Briar Hill Health Campus is accepting nominations for the fifth annual Meals to Fields event in honor of National Farmer’s Day. All community members are welcome to nominate local farmers by Thursday, Oct. 1 Briar Hill team members will deliver a free, farmer-friendly, ready-to-eat meal to all nominated farmers on Thursday, Oct. 8.

This event is part of Briar Hill Health Campus’s ongoing commitment to support the prevalent farming community of North Baltimore, southern Wood County, and northwest Ohio. What started in 2022 with 29 meals to help support the farming family members of Briar Hill’s residents and the North Baltimore community has expanded year after year. In 2025, 120 meals were delivered across northwest Ohio.

“This event started in an effort to support the farming families with loved ones residing at Briar Hill Health Campus, but as we encouraged the local community to nominate, we have been able to show a small token of appreciation to a wider network of the farming community,” said Stephanie Walters, admissions and marketing director at Briar Hill. “We also have been fortunate enough to involve our residents each year to deliver meals alongside our team members. Giving retired farmers a chance to head back out to the fields or loved ones of farmers the opportunity to see them when farming schedules usually affect visiting availability. We are so proud to provide this outreach. Feeding the community that feeds us.”
