Chamber ready to roll with taped Holiday Parade

Wood County District Public Library's entry in the 2019 BG Holiday Parade had a space theme.

From BOWLING GREEN CHAMBER OF COMMERCE

The Annual Bowling Green Holiday Parade has been a longstanding tradition since 1954.  Each parade gave our community the opportunity to come together to either participate or watch the carefully crafted floats, marching bands, performing units of dancers and twirlers and organizations march down Main Street.

This year, with a little imagination, the BG Chamber of Commerce and WTOL are working together to provide that Holiday experience delivered to you in a two-and-a-half hour broadcast on Nov. 21 from noon to 2:30 p.m. Filming of the new content was completed at Wooster Green earlier this week.

New performances from some local talent, interviews, special holiday wishes, an appearance by Santa, as well as the footage from the 2019 Holiday Parade will provide a great afternoon of entertainment.

Executive Director, Mary Hinkelman said, “I’m feeling the excitement already!  Each of the new performances had to be choreographed and rehearsed in just one week.  The temporary decorations at Wooster Green caused a stir of excitement and social media spread the news quickly that something was happening there.  Everyone involved understood the undertaking and helped however they could to make this happen.  We understand how much this event means to the community and we found a way to make it appropriate for 2020.”

Santa recorded a special message for another project that the Chamber is planning. This message will be released on their social media platforms very soon.  Be sure to follow them on Facebook at BGChamberofCommerce, Twitter at chamber_bg, and Instagram at bg_chamber.

The Chamber would like to recognize the City of Bowling Green and Bowling Green State University, as well as the BG Chamber itself, for being the Presenting Sponsors for this broadcast event. They would also like to acknowledge Wood County Hospital for their sponsorship at the Tinsel level, as well as Marsh & Marsh, National Tractor Pulling Championships, BG Transit, Rosenboom and the BG Community Foundation for their sponsorship at the Holly level. You are encouraged to support the effort to bring this broadcast into the homes of thousands of viewers by providing a sponsorship or making a donation to the Bowling Green Chamber of Commerce Foundation.
