David M Kania

David M. Kania, age 73 of Bowling Green, OH passed away Tuesday evening, September 3, 2019 at Bridge Hospice Care Center in Bowling Green. David was born on July 3, 1946 in Toledo, OH to John and Rosemary (Sturtz) Kania. He was a 1964 graduate of Westwood High School. On September 25, 1970 he married Patricia J. Brinker at Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church in Bowling Green. David and Pat went on to celebrate 49 years of marriage together. He worked for Toledo Edison for 25 years before retiring.He would then become a realtor at John Newlove Real Estate in Bowling Green following his retirement. David’s membership included being a former member at St. Louis Catholic Parish in Custar, OH, and the Fraternal Order of the Eagles in Bowling Green. In his younger years he enjoyed Trap Shooting and he had a great passion for buying, training and selling Quarter Horses. He also found much joy in visiting with his many friends and family.


In addition to his wife Pat, David is survived by his sister: Rosanne (Tom) Tussing of Janera, brothers: Steve (Deb) Kania of Findlay, Tom (Sherri) Kania of Liberty Center, step-mother: Wilma Kania of Tiffin, step-brother’s: Paul (Sandra) Saunders of Deshler, Dan (Barb) Saunders of Tiffin, brother-in-law: Bill (Sharon) Brinker of Bowling Green, sister-in-law: Carmen Saunders of FL, one niece, numerous nephews, and numerous step nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother: Dennis Kania, step-brother: Ronald Saunders and nephew, Kyle Kania.

Family and friends will be received 4-8 p.m., Monday, September 9, 2019 at the Marsh & Marsteller Funeral Home, 4094 State Route 105, Pemberville, OH. David will be laid to rest in a private family committal in New Belleville Ridge Cemetery, Bowling Green/ Dowling, OH. Officiating will be Rev. Julie Parsell. Memorials may take the form of contributions to: St. Louis Catholic Parish School or Bridge Hospice in Bowling Green. Pat would like to extend her gratitude to the staff of caregivers at Bridge Hospice, Fr. Tom McQuillen of St. Aloysius Parish for his visits and prayers and the EMS teams that came to their home over the past couple of years to assist David.
