Denver is this week’s adoptable furry friend at Wood County Dog Shelter

Denver at Wood County Dog Shelter

Denver the dog is in need of a new home.

Denver, a 6-year-old beagle mix, was surrendered to the Wood County Dog Shelter by his owners who could no longer care for him.

He weighs 44 pounds, has been neutered, and is housebroken. According to the shelter staff, he is very sweet, loves going for walks and cuddling on the couch.

Denver was adopted from the shelter back in 2018, but there has been a drastic change in my family’s living situation recently, so they brought him back to the shelter.

Denver has been fine around the other dogs at the shelter, but there were no kids or cats in his previous home so it’s unknown how he is with them.  Please bring your kids, dogs and even your cats, if possible, to the shelter for a meet and greet with the help of the warden or deputies – just to be sure everyone gets along before taking Denver home.

The Wood County Dog Shelter is located at 1912 E. Gypsy Lane Road, Bowling Green, phone 419-354-9242.

The adoption fee for all shelter dogs is $89, which includes a $14 Wood County dog license, and $75 vet voucher toward spay/neuter and vaccines if needed. The hours for the shelter are Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to noon and 3:30 to 4:30 p.m., and Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon. The shelter is closed on Sundays.
