Donald Schick

Donald “Don” Wayne Schick, 73, of Bowling Green, OH passed away Thursday, September 28, 2017 surrounded by his loving family.

Don was born on February 2, 1944 in Bluffton, Ohio to the late Ralph and Edna (Irwin) Schick.  He married Cheryl Lynn (Casteel) Schick on February 13, 1970 in Lafayette, Ohio and she survives him in Bowling Green.

Along with his wife Cheryl, Don is survived by a daughter: Sally Schick of Bowling Green, Ohio, sons: Roger (Kam) Schick, of Bowling Green, Ohio; Keith (Suzi) Schick of North Ridgeville, Ohio; Gary Schick of Parrish, Florida, sisters: Marjorie (Melvin) Dawson of Bluffton, Ohio; Betty (John) Howard of Beaverdam, Ohio, brothers: Richard (Elaine) Schick of Lakeview, Ohio; Clark (Bonnie) Schick of Lafayette, Ohio, Grandchildren: Mariah, Alexis, Morgan, Easton, and Landon of Bowling Green, Ohio and Paityn and Lincoln of North Ridgeville, Ohio Along with his parents, Don was preceded in death by a sister M. Jean Ricker.

Don was a 1962 graduate of Lafayette High School now Allen East. Don went on to serve his country proudly in the United States Army. After being Honorably discharged Don went on to be a Plant Manager at Pioneer Packing.  He worked for Pioneer Packing for 40 plus years then worked for Dean Foods Frostbite as a Maintenance Technician.  He retired from Frostbite after 15 years in 2013.   Don had a passion for fishing and boating on Lake Erie, and loved to go deep sea fishing down in Florida.   He enjoyed rooting for the Ohio State Buckeyes and was not a fan of  “the school up north”.

Visitation for Don will be held on Monday, October 2, 2017 from 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM at the Deck-Hanneman Funeral Home & Crematory, 1460 W. Wooster Street/ P.0. Box 648, Bowling Green, Ohio Tele: 419-352-2171.  Graveside Services will be held on Tuesday, October 3, 2017 at 10:00 AM at Union Hill Cemetery.

Memorial Contributions in Don’s honor may be gifted to The American Cancer Society, Bridge Hospice or the National Veterans Foundation.
