Downtown BG being transformed for Black Swamp Arts Festival

From fine art to porta-potties, volunteers and vendors are getting all the elements of the Black Swamp Festival in place in downtown Bowling Green. 

The festival opens today at 5 with the art show running until 8 p.m.; Saturday hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. for art, and continuing until 11:30 p.m. for music; and Sunday, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The festival feature more than two dozen bands on three stages, more than 150 artists, and vendors serving up food with a total caloric value of over a zillion as well as a full range of activities for kids and teens.

BGSU student Maggie Meszaros set ups what will be a large stick structure in the lot with the Great Black Swamp mural. The structure will be about 10 feet tall when completed.
