Dr. David G. Miller M.D.

Dr. David G. Miller M.D., 86, of Bowling Green, Ohio, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, April 5, 2017 while enjoying his morning ride on the Slippery Elm Trail.
Dr. Miller was born in Hicksville, Ohio, to the late LaVon and Ercel (Lenz) Miller. He married his beloved wife, Mary Jane (Barden), in 1954 and she survives.
Dr. Miller grew up in Hicksville, Ohio and went to Ohio Wesleyan University and attended the Ohio State University School of Medicine. Soon after graduation, Dr. Miller served in the United States Army Medical Corps, where he proudly delivered 750 babies. He then moved to Grand Rapids, Michigan to begin his three-year residency in obstetrics and gynecology.
Dr. Miller came to Bowling Green, Ohio in July, 1962 to serve as Wood County’s first OB/GYN. During his career in medicine, Dr. Miller was known in the community for his excellent care and concern for his many patients. He was quite delighted to be the first to welcome the little ones to this world.
Dr. Miller so enjoyed golfing, hunting and fishing with his many friends. In recent years, he was often seen riding his bicycle in the neighborhood and on the Slippery Elm Trail. In addition to his many contributions to our community, Dr. Miller was also an original and active member at Dayspring Church, having been the longest serving member of the Board of Deacons. He was also a leading member of the Full Gospel Businessmen’s Association.
Dr. Miller is survived by his sons Jeffrey, Michael and Gary, his daughter-in-law Tina, grandchildren Christina, Mary Ellen, and Jennifer and great-grandchildren Adelyn, Everett and Amaryllis. He is also survived by his older brother, Lee and sister-in-law Elaine.
Along with his parents, Dr. Miller was preceded in death by his younger brother Glenn Miller.
Visitation for Dr. Miller will be held on Monday, April 10, 2017, from 9:30 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. with the funeral service immediately following at Dayspring Church, 17360 North Dixie Highway, Bowling Green, OH.
