After successful run of two Firefly Nights summer festivals, the organizers are offering an autumn pop-up event to say “thank you” to the community for the support.
Firefly Nights on Wooster Green will be presented Friday, Oct. 20, 7-9 p.m.
Michelle Elson, who chairs the committee wrote to BG Independent: “We are honored by the outpouring support of our sponsors and the entire community. While Firefly Nights is primarily known as a summer festival series, we are pleased to be hosting one more event for 2023!”
The October event will have a different look than the Main Street festivals. No arts and crafts and limited food vendors. But the first 250 people starting at 7 p.m. to show up will get free goodies.
Admission as always is free.
“Mike Williams on Sax will be providing the soundtrack for what we hope will be a beautiful evening with community connections,” Elson wrote.
Snack foods from The Hot Dawg Hut, Detroit Mini Donuts, and Shepherds Kettle Corn will be for sale. The State Bank Gives Truck will have soft pretzels and dips for a donation.
There will be interactive activities, including face painting and crafts, for kids, and adults can participate in axe throwing. Other activities include a photo booth, live performances and lawn games.
The 2023 Firefly Nights Festivals sponsors are State Bank Bowling Green, Thayer Family Dealerships, and Visit BG Ohio.
“On behalf of the entire Firefly Nights Planning Committee,” Elson wrote, “we thank you for coming out and enjoying our festivals! It makes all of the hard work that goes into planning large events totally worth it! We can’t wait to see you again soon!”
