On Feb. 28, at approximately 6:29 a.m. Troopers from the Bowling Green Post responded to a two vehicle fatal crash on US 20 west of milepost 11
in Troy Township.
Upon arriving on scene Troopers learned that a 2002 Chevrolet Cavalier driven by Jesse T. Cutcher, 29, of Gibsonburg was traveling eastbound on US 20. A 2007 Chevrolet 2500 Pick-Up Truck driven by Christopher L. Kugler, 22, of Carrollton was traveling westbound on US 20 when it went left of center striking Mr. Cutcher’s vehicle.
After impact both vehicles came to rest in the eastbound lane of US 20. Mr. Cutcher was pronounced dead at the scene.
Kugler was transported to Bay Park Hospital
with non-life threatening injuries.
US 20 remained closed for approximately three and a half hours. The crash remains under investigation and alcohol does not appear to be a factor.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol was assisted on scene by the Wood County Sheriff’s Office, the Ohio Department of Transportation and Troy Township Fire Department.
