Maria Alicia Bautista, 74, of Bowling Green and formerly of Pemberville, OH passed away September 28, 2017.
Alicia was born in Spring Branch, Texas to the late Toribio and Dolores (Guzman) Calderon. She married Jose Bautista on November 3, 1962 at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Gibsonburg, OH and he preceded her in death on May 13, 2001. Alicia is survived by her children: Adrian Bautista of Oberlin, OH; Percy Bautista of Bowling Green; Natalia Bautista of Toledo, OH; Josie (Jorge) Vazquez of Bowling Green; Nora (Victor) Hernandez of Gibsonburg, OH; grandchildren: Veronica (Juventino) Guillen, Vanessa (Chris) Malsch, Victoria (Alex) Black, Nicolas Hernandez; Vivian and Omar Vazquez; Jose and Zenaida Bautista; Jaden and Skyla Bautista; Maya Bautista, Marcus, Marcel and Morgan Hughes, and Analicia Santos; 7 great-grandchildren; two brothers: Andrew Calderon of Coal City, IL and Edward (Joyce) Calderon of Bowling Green; a sister-in-law Dionicia Calderon of Chicago, IL; and her dedicated caregiver Deb Morrision. She was preceded in death by her brother Matias Calderon.
Alicia had worked as a receptionist for the Wood County Health Department, Ohio Extension Services and the Migrant Farmworker Clinic at Bowling Green State University. Alicia was a faithful member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Bowling Green, where they were active in the Cursillo Movement for the Diocese of Toledo. Alicia was also very active in Migrant Ministry and served as a Eucharistic Minister. The most important aspects of Alicia’s life were her faith, family and serving her community.
Visitation for Alicia will be on Monday October 2, 2017 from 4:00-7:00 PM in the Deck-Hanneman Funeral Home & Crematory, 1460 W Wooster St., Bowling Green, OH 43402, where a Rosary Service will be held at 7:00 PM. Mary’s Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday October 3, 2017 at 10:00 AM in the St. Aloysius Catholic Church, 150 S. Enterprise St, Bowling Green, OH 43402. Interment will follow in the Pemberville Cemetery.
Memorial Contributions may be gifted in Alicia’s honor to St. Aloysius Catholic Church for tuition and educational fees.
