The Bowling Green Ministerial Association invites all to attend a Good Friday Tenebrae Service on Friday, April 7 at 8 p.m. at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, 315 S. College Drive.
This is an ecumenical service that will bring together clergy, lay leaders and choirs to unite in this solemn observance of Jesus’ passion and death.
“Tenebrae” is a Latin word meaning “shadows” or “darkness”. God’s sacrificial love is made real in the dramatic narrative of Jesus’s betrayal, arrest, and crucifixion. The service marks Jesus’s journey to Golgotha and allows for extended meditation through proclamation of the word in scripture and sermon, as well as through music, increasing darkness, and silent reflection.
