NowOH 2016

From BGSU GALLERIES

The BGSU Fine Arts Center will host the 14th Annual Northwest Ohio Community Art Show (Now OH) June 26 – July 23, 2021.

Located at the BGSU Fine Arts Center in the Dorothy Uber Bryan Gallery, the Now OH exhibit is free and open to the public, and features artists age 16 and up, working in a wide variety of mediums. This year the show includes 85 works by 34 artists from five northwest Ohio counties. Many of these one-of-a-kind works are available for sale.

The Now OH 14 award juror is Ellen Mensch, a fine artist, illustrator, curator, and adjunct lecturer. She received a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Indiana University in 2017, followed by a Master of Fine Arts from Bowling Green State University in 2020. She currently works as both a Lecturer at Purdue Fort Wayne and as the Exhibitions & Marketing Coordinator for Artlink Contemporary Gallery in Fort Wayne.

Ellen will comment on the awards she selects in a virtual presentation that will be available for viewing in the gallery lobby and posted on the website. The exhibition will be hosted on the BGSU website after June 26.

Visitors to the exhibition can also vote for their favorite piece, which will receive the People’s Choice Award. Other awards, to be selected by the juror, include the Best of Show award, the BGSU School of Art Award, the Toledo Federation of Arts Societies Award, a Youth Art Award, and several others, totaling more than $1,500.

The Now OH exhibit gallery hours are Thursdays 7-9 p.m., and Fridays through Sundays 1-4 p.m. Parking is free after 7 p.m. and on weekends in Lot N.
