Positively Pink event to focus on ‘Women and Weight Gain’

Submitted by Wood County Hospital

The Positively Pink Women’s Health Series at Wood County Hospital is a program covering a range of topics important to women in the community.  On Feb. 15, the topic for Positively Pink will be “Women and Weight Gain: How to Maintain a Healthy Weight as We Age.”

You never had a problem losing or maintaining your weight before, but now the scale won’t budge. It’s frustrating. Normal age-related changes to your body may be sabotaging your efforts. Join Lisa Harmon, a registered dietitian and diabetes educator, as she shares information on eating more healthfully and the strategies to prevent weight gain and stick to a healthy lifestyle for the long run.

The meeting will begin at 7 p.m., with social time at 6:30 p.m., in the Wood County Hospital meeting rooms. During the social time, a few vendors will offer pertinent health information on popular women’s health topics, blood pressure screening and snacks.

Registration for this event is free but required and can be done by calling Wellness Services at 419-354-8887.  For more information about the event, visit the website.
