The Wood County Emergency Management Agency has issued the following advisory:
During a briefing with the National Weather Service in Cleveland today, it was shared that the entire state of Ohio is forecasted in the “Slight Risk” (Level 2 of 5) for severe weather on Wednesday. Late Tuesday night, scattered showers are expected throughout Wood County. There is a possibility Wednesday will remain cloudy, and if that happens the chance of severe weather will be reduced. However, a bright and sunny Wednesday will aid in the formation of severe weather.
The primary concern for this event is strong wind gusts, isolated hail, and tornadic activity.
Because we are 48-hours out, the exact timing and severity of this weather event is still unclear. NWS Cleveland has scheduled a briefing tomorrow to provide additional updates. Based on their current assessment, we would not be surprised if parts of Ohio were elevated to the “Enhanced Risk” (Level 3 of 5) tomorrow.
This is a weather event to monitor, residents sould remain aware of local conditions and forecasts Wednesday.
