Supreme Court justices should have their own ethical & moral codes, & adhere to them

While I would like to think that our Supreme Court Justices would have their own ethical and moral code, it’s now obvious they cannot be trusted to adhere to such a code.  I am especially disgusted by Clarence Thomas’ lack of ethics but wonder about the rest of the justices since none of them are jumping on board to enforce the code.

I am a retired Purchasing Manager and worked for a local manufacturer for 30 years.  As such, I was offered gifts from vendors.  While my company didn’t have a written code of ethics, our unwritten rule was that purchasing employees shouldn’t take anything of more value than, for instance, a lunch.  My annual salary was much less than Justice Thomas’ salary of $285,400 and yet, I never took vacations or travel from vendors.

Wouldn’t it be wonderful if the justices would simply have their own internal code that would prevent the kind of blatant disregard for ethics that CT has shown?  Since it’s obvious that’s not the case, the code should be enforced by Congress.  I wonder, though, if that will ever happen; I, like a lot of Americans these days, have no trust in politicians to have that kind of moral and ethical fortitude!
