Suspect flees in rural Bowling Green after pursuit on I-75

A suspect is at large after an early morning chase.

Today (Aug. 18), at approximately 1:10 a.m., troopers from the Bowling Green State Highway Patrol Post attempted to stop a vehicle on Interstate 75 south of Wales Road for a speeding violation. 

The vehicle failed to stop and a pursuit ensued. 

While southbound on I-75, the driver turned off the vehicle’s lights and began to drive erratically. The vehicle continued southbound, exited at US 6 in Bowling Green and headed east.  

The vehicle turned north on Dunbridge/County Home Roadd and crashed south of Napoleon Roadd. 

After crashing into the ditch, the suspect fled on foot into a corn field. Troopers and officers from the Perrysburg Township Police Department, Wood County Sheriff’s Office and the Bowling Green Police Department established a perimeter. The suspect was not located. 

The incident remains under investigation at this time.
