Teen Book Festival taking shape

The 2024 Northwest  Ohio Teen Book Festival will be held Saturday, March 9, in the Rossford Junior High School,  from9 a.m. t0 3:30 p.m. 701 Superior St., Rossford.

The festival wll include a community read. Teens can gather for a book club discussion of keynote Eric Smith’s “Don’t Read the Comments,” a young adult novel that examines virtual bullying and doxxing  through the story of two teens who meet through an online game. 

Join Eric Smith for this discussion during the festival’s fourth session.
Other sessions include discussions on the new terrain of publishing, writing believable magic systems, creating multi-dimensional characters,  and many more. There will also be several workshops, such as how to  create suspense in a novel, writing SLAM poetry, and crafting collage  poetry.
 Additionally, teens will have the chance to play board games with their 
favorite authors or solve puzzles in a Hunger Games-themed escape room. 
Early arrivals can also participate in a scavenger hunt with the  opportunity to win their favorite books.
Books will be sold throughout the day at the festival bookstore. Authors  will be available for signing in the Auxiliary Gym from 2:30 to 3:30p.m.

The Northwest Ohio Teen Book  Festival is a volunteer organization made up of lovers of literature, who have come together to create a fantastic opportunity for teens and  tweens from Northwest Ohio and the surrounding area to meet their  favorite authors and discover new authors.
