Thomas E. Cavendish, age 82, of Luckey, OH passed away on Tuesday, September 17, 2019 at his residence. On June 25, 1937 he was born in East Rainelle, West Virginia to Harley W. and Madge H. (Woolwine) Cavendish. On August 31, 1957 he married Velma “Sandy” (Lively) Cavendish in Grafton, West Virginia and she preceded him death on July 20, 2015. For 33 years he worked for the C&O Railroad as a locomotive engineer and retired in 1989. Tom served his country proudly while enlisted in the United States Army and was honorably discharged in 1963. His memberships included: Faith United Methodist Church, Troy Webster American Legion Post #240, both of Luckey, Pemberville Masonic Lodge #516 F.&A.M. for 43 years, and was a member of many organizations of masonry, Roadrunners for the Shriners Hospital and the Bucyrus Amvets Post #27. In his spare time, he enjoyed golfing and watching the West Virginia Mountaineers. However, it was his family that remained his greatest joy during his life.
Thomas is survived by his son: John K. (Donna) Cavendish of Bowling Green, daughter: Jan L. (Wynn) Brinker of Pemberville, grandchildren: Rebecca (Travis) Muckleroy, Wes (Ashley) Brinker, Jessi (Tony) Boninsegna and Alea Haas, great grandchildren: Hunter, Dillon and Jackson Boninsegna and Oakley Brinker. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife: Sandy and brother: John W. Cavendish.
Family and friends will be received 1-3 p.m., Sunday, October 13, 2019 at Faith United Methodist Church, 111 Main Street, Luckey, OH with a Masonic Service and Memorial Service to follow at 3 p.m. Officiating will be Rev. Peter Johnston. A bereavement luncheon will be served immediately following the memorial service at Troy-Webster American Legion Post #240, Luckey. Interment will be at a later date in Troy Twp.
